Katrina Barnett, Miss Cody Stampede 2013
Katrina Barnett was born in Cody, Wyoming and comes from a long line of horse lovers. Growing up on a guest ranch, Katrina began wrangling horses, taking out trail rides, doctoring injured or sick horses and helping out at the barn at a young age. As a young teen, she began to go to hunting camp and guide fishing trips with her father. She grew up on a horse learning many valuable traits that she will continue to use through out her life.
Katrina has always had a great passion for horses and loves anything that has to do with the western way of life. She has raised 5 horses of her own, along with her families herd. She started from the ground up; watching colts being born on the ranch, halter breaking them, training them and eventually turning these animals into working stock. Her father taught her how to break horses and her mother taught her to train them into barrel horses or solid trail horses.
She is a graduate from Northwest College with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Welding Technology. She plans to run her own welding business some day. Currently, Katrina is building a 24-foot horse trailer. While she attended NWC, she participated on the rodeo team. She spent the past summer as the 2012 Miss Cody Stampede Lady In Waiting and looks forward to being Miss Cody Stampede 2013.
Katrina will travel this upcoming year to numerous rodeos and events around Wyoming and the surrounding area. She will complete for the title of Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2014 during the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas, Wyoming.
